Zoom R16 Came In The House!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it, but I also play keyboards in a band called “The Red House”. We play all kinds of stuff from jazz to funk to reggae to pop to a unknown style and what we’ve been lacking so far is a proper gear for demo-level recordings. So far we have been using Zoom H4  & H2 field recorders – which are great for recording straight from the air – but for decent demos there needs to be a some sort of  multitrack recorder  with ability to tweak levels track-by-track so we decided to get the Zoom R16 digital recorder from Thomann. We haven’t tested it in a live recording session yet, but I played around with it by myself and it seems to be a really straightforward and easy-to-learn recording device with good sound quality. Can’t wait to test it in a real recording session! :) For more info about the Zoom R16 check out here: http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=2009

EDIT: After couple of demo-recording sessions with the band, I must say this device is well worth it’s price. It’s easy to use, sound quality is good and the controls are straightforward. I’ll post a demo recording from our jam session later on. I can recommend this device for band recordings.
